Hobbytown USA National Model Contest
Sunday, October 31

Below are some of the models that were on hand for the event.
Unfortunately the names of the builders did not accompany the subjects on the display tables.
The first photo shows the model chosen as Best In Show, John Sowinski's "Purple Haze" street rod.

OK, this last one's not a model, but I had to put it in here somewhere. Pictured is Model Structure's N Scale railroad Starlite Drive-In Theater. What caught my eye about this item was the luminescent lighting used on the entrance signs, lights, and several vehicles in the lot, but the highlight is the movie being played on the big screen. It is a liquid crystal display connected to a DVD player complete with sound. Sunday's movie was "Star Trek - Generations".
